AIME shakes up leadership team

The Association of Independent Mortgage Experts (AIME) has created two senior positions, with Brendan McKay (pictured above) appointed President of the Brokerage Representation and Karis Koehn as Vice President, Partnerships (pictured below).

In addition, AIME has promoted Jennifer Leonard to Vice President of Brand Strategy. It has also formed six new membership committees to address specific issues critical to the growth of the wholesale channel (including channel development, community, consumers, government affairs, partnership development, and the women’s mortgage network).

AIME lifted the lid, saying the new governance structure “reflects the strategic importance of the association’s interactions with its members and the transformative initiatives that are being launched to protect, support and grow the brokerage channel”. AIME membership has grown nearly 400% since the first quarter of 2021 and continues to outperform its own growth every quarter.

“The channel is growing as is AIME membership, so now is the perfect time to expand the AIME executive team to lead and support this dedicated and passionate community,” said Marc Summers, President of AIME. “All of these committees will work to advance AIME’s mission to support, grow and protect the independent mortgage broker channel.”

McKay, who brings over a decade of experience, will be responsible for membership development and act as the voice of brokers within the community. Koehn also joined AIME with 10 years of experience in the mortgage industry focusing on partnership development and technology integration. She will lead the partner management of the association.

“We are excited to announce the newest members of the AIME executive team as we continue to lead a movement to protect the independent mortgage broker community and advocate the growing brokerage channel on the most important issues the industry faces every day “Said Katie Sweeney, CEO of AIME. “Our team is committed to developing valuable new initiatives that support independent originators to ensure their business is successful today, tomorrow and well into the future.”
