Equity Prime Mortgage (EPM) Provides Funding to the University of South Carolina Aiken’s Strength & Conditioning Center Campaign, Helping Push the Project Over the Finish Line

ATLANTA, June 23, 2021 / PRNewswire / – EPM launched the #LivesNotLoans campaign last year to give back to the community through various charities and philanthropic endeavors. A lived life is tied to the end of every loan. Giving back is an integral part of what EPM does to empower people. EPM believes that empowerment leads to freedom, which means financial freedom as well as freedom of mind and body. As the pandemic unearthed new growth opportunities, EPM seized new opportunities to empower people beyond the loans they provided.

One such opportunity presented itself to the EPM President Phil Mancuso after his son returned home from college for the summer. University of South Carolina Aiken (UofSC Aiken) wants to update its outdated sports facility. Phil felt moved to step in, do everything possible to give back and make sure funding for the building was secured before the student athletes got back on campus for the fall semester.

With over 200 student athletes and over 300 sports science students, the university doesn’t have enough space to provide the training it needs to continue its success. The limited space available only accommodates 15 student athletes and prevents students from using the correct equipment. Students are motivated to improve their performance. Creating their own space enables students to invest in the success of their future – to seize their freedom.

In response to the donation Jim Herlihy, Director of Athletics at UofSC Aiken, wrote, “On behalf of our undergraduate and graduate students, we would like to thank the leadership of Equity Prime Mortgage for bringing this project closer to reality. When completed, this new center will support the academic and athletic development of over 20% of the students on campus. The center has been the top priority of our student body council for the past two years. This powerful gift brings us very close to completing fundraising for the project. “

“We pride ourselves on being a driving force in an initiative that is helping all of these student-athletes reach the highest heights, just as we do every day here at EPM. We also ask everyone who is able to give something back. While we’ve laid the foundations for a state-of-the-art facility, there is never enough equipment, technology, or professional supervision to help these young men and women achieve their goals! “Commented Phil.

The commitment to development and excellence is a driving force of the spirit within EPM. This generous outpouring of love and support will inspire one to focus on the needs of a growing community. To donate for this purpose, please visit https://giving.usca.edu/aiken-direct-your-gift.
