BOZEMAN – Tori Martell’s hot hand never went away.
In the rocket mortgage women 3-point championships on Thursday evening In Indianapolis, the state of Montana snipers kept getting better with every round on the way to the title.
After collecting 17 points in the first round, she reached the semifinals, connecting Stephen F. Austin’s Anna McLeod with 19 points. In her tiebreaking round, Martell took the win with 22 points.
“It was just fun to shoot and be here,” Martell said during an interview on ESPN2. “Anna is a really good shot. I wanted to set the tone first and (I) took some recordings. “
She did more than a few timely, that’s for sure.
Martell started slowly, missing her first three shots on the first round before hitting the last two shots from the first rack. It did the most damage to the last rack, taking four of the five shots.
Hitting the last shot of the rack – the money ball that counted two points – became a helpful trend for them. In the first round she hit the money ball at each of the five stations around the bow. Her 17 points this round were only second after McLeod’s 18.
