Mortgage, Rental Relief Assistance Available for Hamilton Residents and Businesses

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, NJ – Hamilton Township reminds residents and businesses that those financially affected by the COVID-19 economic downturn will continue to receive support, rent and mortgage relief assistance. The program is funded by a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) of US $ 650,000 (CARB Funds, CDBG-CV 3) that the community secured earlier this year.

The residential section of the Mortgage and Rental Assistance Program enables rental, mortgage or utility benefits for low and middle income households who have seen significant income drops or have become unemployed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Program applications are being reviewed by the township and Arm In Arm, a local nonprofit agency that helps Mercer County’s residents provide food, housing and jobs support.

“Many Hamilton residents have experienced a significant disruption in their life – both health and economic. This program is instrumental in helping these residents not default on rent, mortgages or utilities and providing them and their families with a safe place to live, ”said Mayor Jeff Martin earlier this year when the program was launched.
